Long Kives Reddened

Long knives reddened,
What do you do with a
Body after it is useless?
When the owner is vacant,
When the rules of property
No longer apply?

Medea, spurned woman,
Maddened motherhood,
Killed her children and
Served the parts to
Her errant spouse.
And what was he
Supposed to do about it??

And old Procrustes
Unable to find good
Furniture makers,
Would hack his guests up
If they had too restless
A night on his short beds.

In Kosovo, platoons
Of Special Ops took
Thousands of bodies to
Slag furnaces, 5000 degrees,
Destroys all DNA.

Since bodies were too big
To slide down coal shoots,
The men cut them to size,
Diligent and proud, they labored
By lamplight,
Washed hands,
Went home late
