Poetry Submission Guidelines

Brick & Mortar Review only accepts email / electronic submissions. Please read all of the guidelines below before submitting (email address for submissions is at the end of these guidelines). Here are the guidelines:

Important: Brick & Mortar does not respond to poetry submissions unless they are accepted for publication. If you do not hear from Brick & Mortar within 30 days, your poetry has not been accepted and you can submit elsewhere.

Please type "submission" in the subject box of your email submission.

Paste your submission in the body of the email. Do not submit in the form of file attachments; they will not be opened and your email will be deleted.

Submit 3 to 10 poems at a time.

Brick & Mortar has no interest in poetry that conforms to rhyme schemes (an occasional rhyme is ok).

Submissions are responded to in one month or less.

Accepted submissions will remain on the Brick & Mortar Review site, either on the front poetry page, or in the archives.

Please include one or two sentences about yourself (not where you have been published).

If you wish your contact information to be posted with your submission, indicate which contact info (i.e. email address, website link).

Simultaneous submissions are OK as long as you notify Brick & Mortar if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Previously published work is OK as long as you have the rights to it.

Thanks for your submissions!
